What is Push Back Pallet Racking
Push back pallet racking is a type of pallet racking system used in warehouses and distribution centers to store and organize large quantities of inventory, allowing pallets to be stored from 2- to 6-pallets deep on either side of an aisle. It is designed to maximize storage density while maintaining easy accessibility to goods.
In a push back rack system, pallets are loaded onto wheeled carts that roll along inclined rails set at a slight angle. As new pallets are loaded into the system, they push the existing pallets back one position. When a pallet is removed from the front of the rack, the remaining pallets roll forward to fill the empty space.
This type of racking system is ideal for high-density storage of multiple SKUs with low to medium inventory rotation. It allows for maximum use of available space while providing efficient and convenient access to stored items.
